Colorado Wildscapes: Bringing Conservation Home

$12.95

Author: Colorado Audubon

Colorado Wildscapes presents easy-to-do landscaping and gardening practices, known as wildscaping, for creating healthy, diverse habitats that feed, shelter, and nurture wild creatures. Wildscaping builds healthy communities both human and wild by nurturing the natural webs of interconnected lives, from tiny ants to shimmering dragonflies and brilliant Western Tanagers. Colorado Wildscapes also highlights the stories of Habitat Heroes, people throughout Colorado who are transforming their ordinary yards into wildscapes that support a diversity of wildlife. These yards are ever-changing, as the Habitat Heroes patiently adopt wildscaping and waterwise principles. They have learned what works for them and generally switched to native species with their lower water needs and care while retaining a few favorite non-natives in some cases. Since the habitat guide is a statewide approach, a regional native plant list is included in the guide.
